Purchase 4 ounce clear plastic baby bottles. Fill each bottle with hard candy in colors that match the theme of the baby shower, such as pink and blue. Purchase hollow plastic baby booties from a party supply store or craft store. These booties are usually available in the party section of the store and are typically available in pink and blue. If the sex of the baby is unknown, look for booties in neutral colors such as yellow, white, or pale green. Purchase hard candy. Choose colors to match the baby shower theme or the standard pink and blue. Wrap the candy in tulle and tie with curling ribbon. Place the tulle wrapped candy in the plastic bootie. Create a small label with the expectant parents’ names and the estimated due date of the baby. Secure the label to the bottom or side of each plastic baby bootie.

Purchase small Chinese food containers (the kind you normally get from a Chinese take out restaurant). This type of container can be purchased online, at party supply stores, and at craft stores. Alternatively, you can purchase small cellophane candy bags. Bake simple sugar cookies and ice them in pink, blue, or colors to match your theme. Place the cookies in the bag and tie with a small ribbon. Add curling ribbon for a more festive touch. Attach a typed written label with the expectant parents’ names and the estimated due date of the baby.

Baby Food Jars

Collect empty baby food jars and clean them thoroughly. Use a computer to create a small label for the jar. Choose baby oriented clip art or use a small photograph of the expectant parents to create a label. Incorporate the baby’s due date or baby shower date into the label design. Attach the label to the jar. Fill the jar with candy, bath beads, or homemade lotion. Tie a ribbon around the jar or affix a bow to the lid of the jar.

Personalized Candy Wrappers

Purchase candy bars, wrapped gum, or roll candy. Remove one of the wrappers and use a ruler to measure it. Using your favorite computer graphics program, create a personalized wrapper to replace the original candy wrapper. Use baby oriented clip art or a photograph of the expectant parents to design the wrapper. Print the wrapper and cut it out. Glue the new personalized wrapper to the candy bar. Add a nice bow as a finishing touch.

Do not despair if you don’t own a graphic program for your computer. Search the Internet for a plethora of free graphic programs and clip art sites. You are sure to find something useful.

One more cute favor you can put on their plates to go with the food is a lifesaver pacifier. You can make these by combining two lifesavers with frosting and using a small jellybean as the nipple part. Turn one lifesaver on its flat side and stick the other standing up so the side of the lifesaver attached to the hole in the other lifesaver so it have a flat part for the top of the pacifier and a handle for the bottom. One the other end of the hole in the lifesaver that is lying flat, stick the jelly bean for the nipple. If you use peppermint or spearmint lifesavers this can be an after meal mint for all of your guests.
